Cow's milk allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is an adverse immune-mediated reaction to one or more proteins in milk. Infants often present with a spectrum of distressing symptoms.1,2

Common symptoms include skin reactions e.g. atopic dermatitis; GI symptoms e.g. colic, vomiting, regurgitation, diarrhoea, constipation, and breathing difficulties e.g. wheezing.1

Cow’s milk allergy is the most clinically complex individual food allergy. Its many symptoms and different presentations make it challenging to recognise, however there are key signs to look out for.3
